Go-karting at 8 years of age, Samantha won her first state Championship a year later in 1997. Since then she has scored podium finishes in Formula Ford, represented Holden Motorsport in the Bathurst 12 hour and impressed in Formula 3, Improved Production and the Mini Challenge. Her latest results on track include 2nd at the Phillip Island “Island Magic” in Formula Ford, 10th at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide in the first round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship and 3rd in Shannons Supercar Showdown.
Her interest in the Automotive industry lead her to pursue a degree in Mechatronic Engineering however it wasn’t long before Samantha developed a passion for road safety. As one of the youngest fully qualified driver trainers in the country, she has worked with Australia’s leading driver education provider Murcotts Driving Excellence and has recently taken on the role of CAMS Ignition Program Manager which specifically provides road safety education for 12 to 18 year olds. Samantha is also regularly involved in Defensive and High Performance driver training and is proving that with her vibrance and enthusiasm she has the potential to shake up an industry which has traditionally been considered an ‘old boys club’.
She is an engaging public speaker for all genders and ages and has covered an array of topics from leadership to road safety. A judge of Wheels Magazines’ prestigious ‘Car of the Year’ in 2009 and 2010, Samantha’s passion for all things cars and her vast technical knowledge has seen her quickly progress to being one of the highest regarded female personalities in the automotive industry. Whilst her main desire is to race at the top level of Motorsport against the best drivers and teams in the industry it is clear that Samantha is so much more than simply a highly talented race car driver.
