About Samy:
I began my racing career at age 8 in Go-karting. Racing all around the country against some of Australia’s most promising young talent gave me the chance to learn the fundamental’s of race craft that have assisted my driving ever since - The adrenaline rush and thrill of competing ensured that I was hooked on, and committed to, a professional driving career from a very early age.
In 2004 I stepped up to Formula Ford, finishing second in the SA Formula Ford Championship, before tackling the full national series in 2006. Formula Ford opened many doors. Not only was it my first real taste of real circuit racing but the association with my supporters racing on a National scene created many opportunities.
Formula Ford also lead to many fantastic media opportunities including an appearance on Bert’s Family Feud! My results in Formula Ford also led to selection in the CAMS Women’s Driver Development program in 2004, 2005 and again in 2006.
Whilst totally focused on my driving, my interest in the sport also drove me to further my studies and led me to a course in Mechatronic engineering at University following the completion of secondary school.
My aim is to benchmark myself against the very best in the industry by competing at the highest level available to me.
As I try to reach my full potential in the sport I am fully aware that this sport – and my career – is dependent on more than just my abilities behind the wheel. I want to represent the sport and those that support me in a positive fashion that enables everyone to win.
I hope to use the introduction of the ‘Samy’ brand as a vehicle to promote my supporters as I continue to strive towards a professional career in the sport.
