Samantha Reid will make a return to the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship in the season finale at Oran Park this weekend.

Following an impressive but unlucky debut at Symmons Plains raceway in Tasmania in September, Reid will once again join the wings-and-slicks field behind the wheel of a Scud Racing Dallara F396, competing in the Trophy Class competition.

The offer to return came from the Scud Racing team who were impressed with the 20-year-old South Australians' performance at Symmons – her first ever weekend of driving an Open Wheeler with high levels of downforce and slick tyres.

Reid scored pole position in her class for race one at Symmons – scoring her first F3 championship point in the process – but had her laps limited for the weekend after technical dramas left her unable to finish the first race and forced to sit out the second as the car was unrepairable.

Despite this her on-track performance grabbed the attention of many and led to her being asked back to race in the finale’ at Oran Park, 50 minutes South West of Sydney, this weekend.
